Looks like Brett Darrow (and more) is getting plenty of "protection" and "service" these days. I'm sure those officers are just making sure none in their ranks go and do something stupid. I'm just sure of it.

Did you catch the article "Appeals Court Authorizes Lethal Force in Low Speed Chases" in the "Related News" on the left of the Brett Darrow article?:
http://www.thenewspaper.com/news/19/1925.asp
Some excerpts:
"A federal court last month gave police the green light to use deadly force to end low-speed chases that follow from minor traffic infractions."
"After turning onto Mount Shepherd Road, however, Coe rammed the motorcycle a second time, knocking Abney off his bike and killing him."
"At no time during the eight-mile daytime pursuit did Abney or Coe exceed the road's 55 MPH speed limit."
Part of the court's ludicrous justification: "Diane Davis, who drove the front vehicle in a line of three or four vehicles passed by Abney, testified that she was 'literally scared to death.'" So, that woman's *fear* justifies a cop ramming a guy on a motorcycle, *twice*.
Reading countless stories like this has made me fear cops. Does my fear justify similar thuggery? Of course not.
Notice in the video that the pigs run a red light and then make a u-turn across the double yellow lines. I have no doubt that if Darrow had done _either_ of those things that he would have got a lot more "protection" and "service" than he (or I) cared for.
Damn cops. I am more and more coming to believe that a higher percentage of cops belong in jail is higher than the percentage of the general population that belongs there.
And what a percentage it is.
