Congratulations to you, Elliot. Good job. And, as I always say, if you do it right, it's only fun and satisfying. After acclimating, it becomes hard to cheat, because it makes you feel so crappy. This lifestyle gives you real resolution.

    Thanks. I am very grateful for this blog and similar one's you've linked to. I particularly like the recipes and the discussions of scientific studies.

    I managed to lose 45 pounds in 2006, but with a more SAD-oriented diet, which made relapsing to bad habits too easy. But the whole foods approach makes it very easy not to want to cheat.

    BTW, I weighed in at 200.5 this morning. Then, I managed to get it down to 200 by shifting the scale around the floor. I realize that the numbers aren't as important as other factors, but breaking 200 will be a great morale booster.
