I really like people like Melissa. A bit seasoned in age, recognize a problem (I was about 47), do something about it. For most of us, complete reversal might prove to be a futile quest. For most of us, diminishing returns eventually present themselves and you just have to recognize you’re way better off, and probably OK. Once you’ve gotten that out of the way, all you’ll have to do is ignore and smile at the 20-somethings beating their chests and lafing at you.
Still, one can make great progress no matter the age. One can always improve.
Most of my interviews of the past nearly 2 years have focussed on the gut biome, resistant starch, etc. This one is different and I enjoyed it. Not sure what Melissa’s background is, but she puts on a good interview.
In this case, the discussion focussed mainly around “Paleo” as presented in my book:Free The Animal: Lose Weight & Fat With The Paleo Diet V2. But Melissa also gave me great leeway to expand beyond Version 2.0 in an interview.
And so, this podcast is probably my best overview of my evolved conception of a minimally processed, Real Food Diet: meat, fish, fowl, vegetables (starchy too), fruits—nuts in moderation, dairy, legumes, and rice; if they work for you.
So go have a listen, let me know what you think for future improvements, because I have another interview tomorrow afternoon.
