Late Notice: Huffington Post Live in about an hour or so

I’m on HuffPo Live at 2:30-2:40 PST, add three hours for Eastern etc.

Here’s the page: live.huffingtonpost.com. Looks like it’s going to come off, as I’ve already done vid/audio checks with production staff (who are greatly competent, BTW, and with a shout out to Lauren Betesh who gives me hope in youth).

If you want to know the subject matter, you’ll just have to tune in.

Update: OK, I think this is it, about 15 min or so, I think. It was a total joy and fun for me, the whole process, even in the hours leading up and the attention to production value. I learned a lot.

Some of the people who comment in various places; here on the blog, Twitter, FB, give me pause. They seem to mistake my writing, often enough for schtick and effect, with being a complete asshole to people.

I enjoyed being on with all of those women, including the host. And Lauren, fresh out of college at Columbia, the production assistant, was as pro and competent as I could want anyone to be.

I hate being misunderstood, but I’m almost to the point of thinking that the people who hang on my stuff the most, also misunderstand me the most—and I don’t think it’s me who’s the fuckhead.

Since Covid killed my Cabo San Lucas vacation-rental business in 2021, this is my day job. I can't do it without you. Memberships are $10 monthly, $20 quarterly, or $65 annually. Two premium coffees per month. Every membership helps finance this work I do, and if you like what I do, please chip in. No grandiose pitches.

Soap sounds good, but I really wish you were giving your reactions to Pope Francis.

I’ll have to think about that, Jake. Initial reaction is that the Catholics are by far the smartest dominant religion on the planet. They’re like the mob. Don’t kill the host. This is agriculture and domestication. Accordingly, you keep it alive, feed it, and milk it.

Hangin’ out with a bunch of dirty, stinky, skanky ho’s…how cool!

That’s an obvious lie, Tim. How far do you think behaviour like that is going to get you?

    washcloth >> soap > nothing.
No data to back this up, but I think the detergent effect of soap is far less powerful than the mechanical effect of a washcloth.

It’s a decent point, Bill. Hell, tree bark if you’re a caveman. I prefer fingernails for exfoliation, but that’s just me.

Been reading your stuff religiously for years .. definitely not you who is the fuckhead. Time for my morning cold shower with no soap! I really feel that the combination of cold water and no poo/soap puts the benefits over the top.
