Killing Babies: Smiling, Cheering, and Clapping About It
I doubt that image or the video clip behind it are going to age well.
It’s Massachusetts governor Maura Healey signing a bill to give females the right to kill babies up to the time of birth. She’s surrounded by other women cheering and clapping.
It’s just a choice caricature, metaphor, and whatever else all rolled into one—and it’s not a good look at all. Can you even imagine women, the only ones who can produce offspring to continue the generations, cheering the ability to kill little babies? And I mean they’re cheering the killing, not of some fetus or embryo maybe a month or two old that most reasonable people understand has to be off the table. No, they say they want to wait nine months until they decide.
They claim it’s only a very, very small percentage. Well, okay, so if you’re talking about outright murderous killers, do you run the numbers that way? Do you say, well, it’s only a very small percentage? This image and video is taking the Internet by storm, and it just shows me that lots of women have no fucking idea what they’re doing.
All these women are eventually going to get doxxed. People are going to have their names and addresses. I wouldn’t want to be them. This is not a call for violence, but America is a big country, and I would not want to be one of these people. Because this is shit. This is real shit that gets a lot of people very, very fucking angry and resolved to nip this kind of shit in the bud.
I would not lift a finger to stop anyone from doing what I think is needed at this point. Would you?

Absolutely horrid reptiles doing what they do. A country that allows this is not going to be granted any of the good graces that most think that they DESERVE. It doesn’t work that way and the day of reckoning is fast approaching.
A Day of Reckoning comes when the moral reality of killing can no longer be hidden behind slogans, uniforms, ideology, fear, obedience, revenge, or national interest.
For an individual, that reckoning may come through conscience, law, memory, exposure, or finally through spiritual judgment. A person may rationalize murder for a time, but rationalization does not change the nature of the act. Human life has been deliberately taken, and that fact remains after the justification has faded.
For a group, the danger is greater because responsibility becomes diluted. One person gives the order, another carries it out, another finances it, another excuses it, another celebrates it, and another simply looks away. Each person can then say, I was only one small part. Yet organized killing is possible precisely because thousands of small parts agree not to examine the whole.
For a culture, the deepest reckoning begins when killing becomes normal.
When the dead become statistics.
When cruelty becomes entertainment.
When civilians are described as acceptable losses.
When hatred is taught as virtue.
When the suffering of one’s own people matters infinitely, while the suffering of another people barely registers.
When language is deliberately changed so that murder sounds administrative, necessary, heroic, or clean.
At that point, something more than individual lives is being destroyed. The culture itself is damaging its capacity for conscience.
History repeatedly shows that societies can become accustomed to acts that earlier generations would have regarded with horror. Human beings possess an extraordinary ability to normalize whatever surrounds them. This is why propaganda is so dangerous: before people can be induced to kill others on a large scale, they are commonly taught to stop seeing those others as fully human.
No ideology, race, religion, nationality, political cause, grievance, or historical injury makes an innocent human life worthless.
There are circumstances in which force may be morally defensible—most obviously immediate defense of innocent life—but even then killing should remain tragic. A society becomes morally dangerous when it begins to love killing, celebrate killing, or cease mourning the necessity of it.
And there is an important distinction between reckoning and revenge.
Revenge says:
They killed ours, therefore we may kill theirs.
Reckoning says:
The killing must stop, the truth must be established, responsibility must be assigned, and justice must be done without becoming what we condemn.
That distinction is one of civilization’s most important achievements.
The murderer must answer for murder.
The commander must answer for unlawful orders.
The politician must answer for policies knowingly directed against innocents.
The propagandist must answer for deliberately cultivating hatred.
The citizen must examine whether he defended human dignity consistently or only when the victims belonged to his own side.
But guilt should not simply be transferred by bloodline, nationality, ethnicity, or religion. Moral responsibility belongs to persons and institutions according to what they actually chose, ordered, enabled, concealed, or committed. Otherwise the doctrine of reckoning itself degenerates into another justification for collective vengeance.
The ultimate Day of Reckoning is therefore the moment when all the disguises fall away.
Not Which side were you on?
Not What flag did you carry?
Not What did your leaders tell you?
Not What name did you give the operation?
But:
Whom did you kill?
Whom did you protect?
What did you know?
What did you permit?
What did you celebrate?
And when you recognized evil, did you oppose it—or merely find a reason why, this time, it was acceptable?
A civilization is measured not by how loudly it condemns the murders committed by its enemies, but by whether it can recognize murder even when committed by its friends.
That is the test.
And that is the reckoning.
I always thought that abortion was a very private and desperate, mortifying, option of last resort.
Certainly, not an act to be publicly celebrated and cheered. This scenario is truly heinous and mystifying.
Friendly reminder for those who need it — there are lots of ways to avoid an unwanted pregnancy, and (outside a lab) only one way to get pregnant. Women who really, really do not want a baby should take more responsibility to prevent it.
And for the men who need reminding — Women cannot get pregnant without you. Problem solved, take more personal responsibility to prevent pregnancy, especially if you are opposed to abortion,
