As I sit here and watch six trading accounts finish off a very nice week (about 20% gain overall), simply because everyone has jumped on and is riding the same bullish bandwagon — at least for now and probably for most or Q4 — I note what’s happening with another bandwagon, the Ron Paul bandwagon. Where once he was either dismissed or derided by "conservatives" as a "moonbat" and worse, there’s this news about Laura Ingraham and Michael Regan.
Do you have any idea of what Ron Paul makes the Republican establishment look like, should he become recognized top tier? I can only begin to imagine how fun it will be to watch him blast that bunch of "neocon" shitbags all to hell. Yea, I have a certain bloodlust about the whole thing. I can never bring myself to accept "lesser evils." Give me good, or give me evil, but I just can’t stomach "lesser evil," on those explicit terms (evil, sanctioned as "good," by worse), nor those who are fooled by it. I said that I loathed the Republicans even more than the Democrats (for that exact reason) back before the ’06 elections. I meant it then, I mean it now, and I am still very glad the Democrats won those elections and I hope they keep winning them until the Republicans decide that "lesser evil" is not the place to be. And I hope Ron Paul continues the work and annihilates the Republican party as it is. Maybe then they can get something good going, realizing very much that any "good" will come with substantial time decay.
By the way, I’ve recently added this to my upcoming reading list, The Betrayal of the American Right, by Murray Rothbard. I’m very interested to gain insight into the classical conservative view of interventionism and war.
