HAPPY BELATED VETERINARIAN’S DAY!

I just realized that there must have been a reason Beatrice stayed home from teaching school today.

Something about killing people for Our Team, I think. But I sense it used to be something a bit different where, we kinda won, and with some measure of honor too…though we couldn’t let it end there; or, we Americans have a basic incapacity to be without an enemy to kill regularly, for the sake of the quintessentially American show.

Amusingly, America put up the first very good show, but could no longer ever win the essential moral-political debate over basic self determination (even if you dismiss America’s original sin of slavery). The idea—the original Enlightenment idea—that a government is subject to moral principles and not sovereign by experiment? #FAIL. Gone forever.

That was the only important thing about America.

It failed the very second they ratified a Constitution and it was only Lysander Spooner who recognized it…and people have been acting like abject morons, fools, and ignoramuses ever since.

Go pet your dog, and if you don’t have one, go take a walk outside. You’ll find one.

Don’t worry about all the Veterinarians. They’ll do fine.

Since Covid killed my Cabo San Lucas vacation-rental business in 2021, this is my day job. I can't do it without you. Memberships are $10 monthly, $20 quarterly, or $65 annually. Two premium coffees per month. Every membership helps finance this work I do, and if you like what I do, please chip in. No grandiose pitches.

You can’t beat having dogs. We’ve had bunches of them, all adopted pound puppies for over thirty years now. You feed them, vet them, love them and you get back pure, unadulterated love.

Well, except for my finicky bitch Nuke. I’m still chasing her, but I only get the love on her intermittent terms. :)
