Get Blown Away
I’m sure you heard about it, but did you see the video? Click on the iPhone Introduction. Now, here’s the thing. You’re probably going to roll your eyes at Jobs’ self congratulation and on and on about how great Apple is.
Keep watching. With respect to this device, he grossly understated how cool it is.
"You had me at scrolling."
Watch for that, and just see if you don’t nod your head.

Wow. I'm just starting to come around to thinking Apple is the way to go. Vista will be the best thing that ever happened to Apple.
Did you actually watch that presentation? If not, do so. To say I'm blow away just doesn't cut it.
I'm in the middle of it, while trying to track down a nasty memory leak at the same time, and checking back here whenever I think I can get away with it.
Last night, a bunch of us sat around work talking about this phone, and speculating on Apple's overall strategy and future. We hadn't seen the video yet – I'm assuming this actually happened today.
There are two issues for me:
1. No support for Good Technologies or Blackberry server, or, failing that, wireless Active Sync. You've got to have one of those for true robust wireless synchronization of email, calendar, contacts, tasks, and notes with Exchange Server, and there are a LOT of corporate Exchange Servers. IMAP sucks. It's nothing compared to Exchange Server, and anyone who suggests otherwise doesn't have the slightest clue what they're talking about.
2. My new Blackjack is already on the 3G network, which is a good 10 times faster than "EDGE." EDGE is awful. I had three GSM/EDGE phones, and you never even get close to half of the 200 kbps advertised. It's usually 30 to 40. The 3G gives me a consistent 600 down, and 200 up, and when you're doing the sort of robust internet he's demonstrating, you are gonna need it big time. During the demo, he's on WiFi, so he's getting 11 mbps.
Unbeleivable!!!!!!!!
What else is there to say.
Thanks Richard…I wouldn't have watched that video if you hadn't put it up on you're blog. I'm a pretty old guy…and yes, I-Phone is indeed COOOOOOLLL. Makes me even think about getting one. Jon :<)
