Take A Walk on the Wild Side

The only live version I can find. Lou Reed. Not great at all, but it’s live.

Here’s a studio version if you prefer. FYI, I don’t give a shit about the bi or tansvestite undertones or explicits. Just don’t. Metaphor, ladies & gentlemen. Pick your poison.

Ah, it just came up on the Serge Gainsbourg station, and I thought what the hell, and took another 5 or 10 minutes to drop something off. I’m in a particular mood.

…Coupla weeks ago, this song came up in my own library as we were playing Spades with friends and Beatrice said wait, did he just say”…and the colored girls sing dup-de-dup-de-dup-dup-de-dup-dup….?” Yep, indeed he does.

And lighten the fuck up, everyone.

    I’ve got the vinyl of Transformer somewhere in a box – – – – .

However, the track that still sings to me is:

    “It’s such a perfect day,
    I’m glad I spent it with you . . . “

Imagine here in Canada where you can’t play “Money for Nothing” because of the word faggot.
