Our Automatically Lying World

Honesty is so gauche.

Good lies are en vogue.

I spend half of my life running cover for my clumsy—often cruel and brutal—honesty, because most people prefer lies.

I started writing Free The Animal in late 2003 as just a little thing to try. 20 years later, turns out I've written over 5,000 posts. I blog what I wish...from diet, health, lifestyle...to philosophy, politics, social antagonism, adventure travel, expat living, location and time independent—while you sleep— income by geoarbitrage, and food pics. I intended to travel the world "homeless," but the Covidiocy Panicdemic squashed that. I became an American expat living in Thailand. I celebrate the audacity and hubris to live by your own exclusive authority and take your own chances. ... I leave the toilet seat up. Read More

    Diogenes died…..looking for you.

This is obviously an ancient issue.

There is nothing new infer the sun.

Interesting, Hap. I got my honesty anecdote in 1990.

“The Neo-Tech Discovery.” Look it up. Used copies abound. It changed me in terms of just hating little sweet lies to get along and it stuck.

I don’t worry about little convenience lies and I still do it myself.

The difference is an overall commitment to honesty that is fully integrated into how one conducts a life, rather than being a disjointed, disintegrated, and patch work of lies on lies.

    My favorite…

Them: Do you have to be so mean and angry when you talk to me?

Me: Mean? How was I mean?

T: You just sound so mean sometimes.

M: So you are saying that ‘what I am saying is mean?’.

T: Yes. You are or sound angry.

M: Was I wrong or incorrect in the content of what I said?

T: No, just how you said it.

M: So, you would like an olive on the turd sandwich you are eating?

T: Now you are being an ass.

M: Truth is truth. I can be a bit acerbic yes but depending upon whom I am talking to, it serves a purpose.

T: How? I see no reason to be mean spirited.

M: My spirit is not mean. I just care to use my words effectively. I can candy coat something and the person may not get to the root of what I am saying. They may actually overlook my message. If the person is strong and smart enough to see through what and how I say something then maybe that person is worth keeping around.

T: Well you just might have chased away a good person. Then how would you know the person to get to know them.

M: I do not want just strong or just smart people in my life. I want a combination of both. Once I know the worth of the person then I will do my best to uphold the trust we have in each other. I am no longer a child freely giving away one of the greatest human traits to just anyone. If I am smart and strong enough I hope to keep that person as a friend.

T: You can be impossible some times.

M: Do you really want to start down that path!!!

I have been down that road 1000’s of times. I will lie to you if that is what you want but you will know it is a lie.

I had forgotten how good French people are at lying. It is a high art form.

    http://www.aussieinfrance.com/2014/11/forbidden-mushrooms/

“I suppose you’re looking for mushrooms”, he goes on. “Yes”, says Jean Michel. “Well, there aren’t any”, says the farmer. “Oh, there are”, replies Jean Michel, “but only leccinum griseum and hedgehog mushrooms. No chanterelles.” “I don’t pick mushrooms myself”, says the man. “My forest is for hunting. If I find anyone with mushrooms, I confiscate them and throw them away.”

A carefully crafted solid wall of lies.

I haven’t watched cable news channels in over a decade. Not a minute.

I have been tuning in lately and channel surf Fox, CNN, and MSNBC.

I had thought that hottess, MK, was coming around….and let’s just be frank about it: she is the fucking hot of the hot and I love that thing she does with the corner of her mouth when being a bit wry. So hot.

…Anyway, I thought she was coming around nicely with both her outrage with Donna Brazile and the Catholic deal, but she proved herself to be still a common cunt and Newt exposed it. I never liked Newt and thought his ’94 execution was fucking deplorable, squandered.

But, he put her in her place this time.
