The allegory is timeless because it’s packed with lessons about the human condition. What motivated the boy? What motivated the villagers? What’s in play and, what, eventually, gets undone?

What is your take on Trump pushing the mRNA vaxx out like he did? Was he fooled by Pence, Fauzi and Birx or he knew what he was doing?
It’s an excellent question, George, one I have not changed my view on since this all began shortly after “Impeachment 2.0” at the end of 2019.
He was impervious then, but they got him by politicizing something that had never been politicized before—a plausible global health emergency. Previous to this, like in 2013, life goes on, you let health folks deal with it.
Anyway, they got him because they judged rightly that he was ill-equipped to take on something in which he had zero expertise.
So, he fucked up a lot. First fuck up was believing he could overcome it by playing along, with Fauci and all that bullshit. Second, tossing money at it to get a laughable vaccine, not understanding that respiratory viruses are uncontrollable by nature—why there is no vaccine for common cold, and the annual flu vaxx is a shot in the dark.
He ought to have done as Belarus. Nothing.
In hindsight I think he was really only interested in the business side of the Government. That was all he really knew anything about. He hired the wrong people to a lot of positions which fucked up a lot of things. Not sure I want him back if there’s going to be another fair election ever again.
