Youthful Rejuvenating Metformin

My Look Into It and Now Use

There are too many claims about too many things for any one person to thoroughly evaluate them all. Plus, I’m looking for big effects. What’s more, cover the basic bases first: a proper omnivorous whole food focussed primarily on animal foods (meat, fish & shellfish, fowl). That’s covering the biggest of the basic bases.

I take almost nothing touting “superfoods seriously.” Almost without exception, they’re almost always plant based and if you look into the nonsense, you’ll typically find that you’ll do a lot better eating something like eggs or liver (the true superfoods). Hell, even dairy, since full-faction dairy has about everything a human—or at least mammal—needs by definition.

Then there’s the class of stuff that’s just too damn hard or too damn expensive or too hard to get. Etc.

Then every once in a while something comes along that delivers a head-shaking bang for the buck, and I believe that thing is Metformin Hydrochloride.

I had to get a vial of Bayer testosterone enanthate, so I walked out the back door of the condo complex, across the street, down a few meters to get that and asked, “do you have Metformin?” The pharm gal is great. Speaks English, Chinese, and Russian (and Thai, of course). Never asked a question she didn’t have solid answers to and if I inquire about something, she asks the sorts of questions you’d expect a competent med pro to ask.

“500 or 1,000?” she asks.

Then I ask how much. 300 baht for the 30 1000 mg, which is $8.83 at the current exchange rate (2-6 week supply depending on common dosages 500-2000 mg/d). So was the 1 mL vial of test (250 mg, 1-3 week supply depending on dose). So I’m out of there with my T and the Met for $17.66. No doc appointment, no prescription, no trouble. Think about how easy I have it compared to “land of the free” people. Plus, the fact that it’s fucking up to me, I assume the risk and take my chances, and doctors can fuck right off. Don’t get me wrong. Physicians are great, but many stand in the way of a person getting what they wish to self-administer and experiment with on their own exclusive authority.

Metformin is taken by hundreds of millions of people worldwide. It has been in use for more than 60 years. And guess what? It has been used in England since 1958. When did the face-fuckers at USFDA get a round to it? 1995. 37 years later. Miserable fuckwads.

… So for years I’ve heard tidbits here and there, can’t even remember who the first time, but it seems every time I read something from the longevity peeps, Metformin comes up. I finally decide to look into it.

Shocking.

I’m not going to rewrite the article, because it’s already written.

Will Metformin Become the First Anti-Aging Drug?

New studies appear almost daily revealing how metformin inhibits aging by boosting AMPK activity. Data on cancer risk reductions provide an even greater urgency for maturing individuals to reactivate their cellular AMPK.

What you need to know

  • Metformin has been a staunch workhorse against diabetes for more than 50 years.
  • Studies show that metformin acts by boosting the activity of AMPK, a master metabolic regulator that favors fat- and sugar-burning and prevents their accumulation.
  • Because AMPK is relevant in all tissues, this makes metformin extremely important in reducing metabolic imbalances in the entire body.
  • Strong evidence suggests that metformin, through its protective effects and AMPK-activating properties, can help prevent cancer, cardiovascular disease, obesity and its consequences, and even neurodegenerative disorders.

And if you go through the extensive article with 57 footnoted references, you’ll see that the touted effects aren’t peanuts.

Get this one quote alone:

“And most impressively, diabetics taking metformin were shown to live 15% longer than healthy individuals without diabetes!”

Apparently, there is an approved study in the works, touted to be the first anti-aging study approved by the fucking FDA. So, there’s that.

… OK, then get to it. And if you like how I roll, you’ll feel much better when you’re supporting my work with no fucking bullshit.

I buy and use other natural things that according to research does the same as Metfornin. Berberine is one of them. Hesperidin, pentaphyllum are other ones.

Can’t get it here in the US without prescription and I am not fully diabetic and hope I won’t be. If I understand it right, then Metformin does the AMPK. The ones I mention above are all AMPK activators. Hoping it will do the same as Metformin.
