Not X. Xamizdat.

You Finally Catch a Break; Nobody Cares

This kinda work is very frustrating at times. You’re right since day 1—a reasonably frequent experience for me with a good track record—”everybody” is wrong, and you get massive resistance as being a loon, which is a euphemism for not saying the same thing everyone else says about what they think they “know.”

Pointing out that 99.99% used to believe in their hearts that the universe revolved around planet earth has never been helpful; though, principally, I’m identifying the same level of acquiescence to authority. People love to be told what to do because then they have excuses when shit derails. Just default to authority, take no responsibility.

It’s the hand I’m dealt. I deal with it and I soldier on.

But what goes along with that is the insult that follows the injury. When it finally does come out that I was right and “everybody” was wrong, like I said, there’s nothing to see here. There are many who, like me, called it right, paid the price. And all the fuckers?

Crickets.

Like it never happened.

To credit where due, there indeed are a significant number who publicly issue statements—when the dust has settled—of mea culpa and regret, seeking redemption. I’m happy to see those, of course—and I’m a sucker for redemption—but I always admonish: don’t apologize; just don’t do it again.

… But it seems like we go through the cycle over and over. The next time: “Oh, this isn’t like the last time.”

Fear abounds. In some sense, it makes sense. After all, if you have an encounter with a snake that turns out okay, it doesn’t mean you’re not going to be scared shitless the next time, and the next. Then again, in what is arguably Western Civilization’s founding document containing many books and innumerable chapters, it was in Chapter 3 of Book Number One where this was laid out already. Perhaps it was covered that prominently and upfront for a reason?

Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made… — Genesis 3:1

(The ironic thing is that in a wider context, Genesis 3 is about God wanting Adam and Eve to remain innocent and ignorant, obedient and happy…like pets. The fruit of The Tree of The Knowledge of Good and Evil is what “condemned” them to a life of moral conscience, which means you gotta choose good or bad, suffer the consequences…and in an even wider context, since all humans are fallible, all are automatically condemned…the “root” of the doctrine of “original sin.” This is a paradigm with an underlying set of assumptions, and the internal and consistent logic that flows therefrom.)

The larger point is that humans are assaulted with fear 24/7, 99.9% of it contrived and imaginary.

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed—and hence clamorous to be led to safety—by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, all of them imaginary. — H. L. Mencken

… So what should have hundreds of millions of views but, at the time of this writing, has eight and a half thousand?

Maybe there are other channels, but this is the one I found. It says out loud what everyone with a brain knew was going on, but wasn’t said, and now that it is, “oh.” And that’s it. And you wonder why I’m such a misanthrope.

I wrote nearly 100 posts anti-Covidiocy in all its forms and every day I’m vindicated more and more.

… Then you have even Mark Zuckerberg. His recent letter of admission to the US Congress to what anyone with a brain (most do not…no more than a pet or feedlot cow or sheep to slaughter has a real brain) knew was precisely the case.

In 2021, senior officials from the Biden Administration, including the White House, repeatedly pressured our teams for months to censor certain COVID-19 content, including humor and satire, and expressed a lot of frustration with our teams when we didn’t agree….I believe the government pressure was wrong, and I regret that we were not more outspoken about it. I also think we made some choices that, with the benefit of hindsight and new information, we wouldn’t make today. Like I said to our teams at the time, I feel strongly that we should not compromise our content standards due to pressure from any Administration in either direction – and we’re ready to push back if something like this happens again.

I may have to rethink always referring to him as CockZucker. Like I said, I’m a sucker for redemption, and he said the magic words about not doing it again.

BUT, what was the real impact of Zuckerberg’s moral sins, for which he now seeks absolution? The enormously great Jeffrey Tucker of the Brownstone Institute puts a nice fine point on it.

Facebook as an information source offers power like we’ve never seen before, especially because so many people, especially among the voting public, believe that the information they are seeing is from their friends and family and sources they trust. The experience of Facebook and other platforms framed the reality that people believed existed outside of themselves.

Every dissident, and every normal person who had some sense that something odd was going on, was made to feel like some sort of crazy cretin who held nutty and probably dangerous views that were completely out of touch with the mainstream.

What does it mean that Zuckerberg now openly admits that he excluded from view anything that contradicted government wishes? It means that any opinions on lockdowns, masks, or vaccine mandates – and all that is associated with that including church and school closures plus vaccine harms – were not part of the public debate.

We had lived through and were living through the most significant far-reaching attacks on our rights and liberties in our lifetimes, or, arguably, on the history record in terms of scale and reach, and it was not part of any serious public debate. Zuckerberg played an enormous role in this.

People like me had come to believe that average people were simply cowards or stupid not to object. Now we know that this might not have been true at all! The people who objected were simply silenced!

During two election cycles, the Covid response was not really in play as a public controversy. This helps account for why. It also means that any candidate who attempted to make this an issue was automatically downgraded in terms of reach.

How many candidates are we talking about here? Considering all the US elections at the federal, state, and local levels, we are talking about several thousand at least. In every case, the candidate who was speaking out about the most egregious attacks on liberty came to be effectively silenced.

Think about that more than a superficial, ‘oh, well…’ Think of it like this. If everyone has chosen to primarily communicate (even friends and family) via social media rather than in-person or over the telephone, do you not find it disturbing that there is now a gatekeeper between you and your friends and family?

That’s a feat even totalitarian regimes couldn’t contain very well.

In his article, Jeffrey raises one spectre, by way of example, as to how many preferable candidates might have been shut out during the Covidiocy election cycles.

In the 2022 mid-term elections, when the sheeple were still at peak Covidiocy, Dr. Scott Jensen ran against Tim Waltz (maybe you’ve heard the name recently) for the governorship of Minnesota. As a physician, he had a deep-rooted, Hippocratic take on things. But that’s inconvenient to political administrations and their massive drug corporation fascistic bedfellows. He was hugely popular, but also severely throttled on platforms, banned in some.

Here, in his own very cogent and direct words, unemotional, just as you might want your doc to be.

Consider how many other elections were affected. It’s astonishing to think of the implications of this. It means that quite possibly an entire generation of elected leaders in this country was not legitimately elected, if by legitimate we mean a well-informed public that is given a choice concerning the issues that affect their lives.

Zuckerberg’s censorship – and this pertains to Google, Instagram, Microsoft’s LinkedIn, and Twitter 1.0 – denied the public a choice on the central matter of lockdowns, masking, and shot mandates, the very issues that have fundamentally roiled the whole of civilization and set the path of history on a dark course.

And it is not just the US. These are all global companies, meaning that elections in every other country, all over the globe, were similarly affected. It was a global shutdown of all opposition to radical, egregious, unworkable, and deeply damaging policies.

When you think about it this way, this is not just some minor error in judgment. This was an earth-shattering decision that goes way beyond managerial cowardice. It goes beyond even election manipulation. It is an outright coup that overthrew an entire generation of leaders who stood up for freedom and replaced them with a generation of leaders who acquiesced to power exactly at the time it mattered the most.

… But, oh, well, just show me another cat video…

Or, for America’s pussy-boy 2nders: ‘what time does the range open and do your have your ticket for the next gun show…? And, oh, do you have your CCW and all other paperwork and hoops jumped through in order?’

I can’t help but to keep quoting Jeffrey here, whom I wouldn’t call a friend, but we’ve had our email exchanges going back a ways.

Then also you have the French arrest of Telegram founder and CEO Pavel Durov, an event which surely rattles any major CEO of a communication platform. You have the arrest and incarceration of other dissidents like Steve Bannon and many others.

You also have the litigation over free speech back in play now that RFK, Jr has been cleared as having standing, kicking the case of Missouri v. Biden back to the Supreme Court, which wrongly decided last time to deny standing to other plaintiffs.

Zuckerberg of all people knows the stakes. He understands the implications and the scale of the problem, as well as the depths of the corruption and deception at play in the US, EU, UK, and all over the world. He may figure that everything is going to come out at some point, so he might as well get ahead of the curve.

Of all the companies in the world that would have a real handle on the state of public opinion right now, it would be Facebook. They see the scale of the support for Trump. And Trump has said on multiple occasions, including in a new book coming out in early September, that he believes Zuckerberg should be prosecuted for his role in manipulating election outcomes. What if, for example, his own internal data is showing 10 to 1 support for Trump over Kamala, completely contradicting the polls which are not credible anyway? That alone could account for his change of heart.

[…]

Therefore, the Zuckerberg admission has much larger implications than anyone has yet admitted. It provides a first official and confirmed peek into the greatest scandal of our times, the global silencing of critics at all levels of society, resulting in manipulating election outcomes, a distorted public culture, the marginalization of dissent, the overriding of all free speech protections, and gaslighting as a way of life of government in our times.

Now onto Brazilian Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes, a laughable butthurt clown and honestly, I think Elon is just toying with the tool.

For this, we go to another fav, Jeff Childers.

Straight from central casting (villains department) comes Brazilian Supreme Court judge Alexandre de Moraes, who appears to be a Brazilian law unto himself. The dispute began last month when Moraes ordered Twitter/X to subject itself to government controls or face criminal prosecution.

In response to those threats, Elon Musk refused to comply. The space billionaire promptly closed X’s offices in Brazil, to protect the company’s workers from being arrested. Judge de Moraes then ordered all of Starlink’s Brazilian bank accounts to be frozen, even though StarLink is a completely different company than Twitter with a completely different ownership structure—apparently just because Musk was involved.

Now it’s personal.

Musk then announced that StarLink, now unable to collect user fees, would provide internet service to Brazilians for free. De Moraes responded by ordering a bankrupting daily fine against any Brazilian citizen who accesses Twitter through StarLink or any other way. No Twitter for you!

“De Moraes’ defenders,” CNN reported, “have said his actions aimed at X have served to protect democracy.” Because, of course, the last thing democracy needs these days is citizens informing themselves outside of official government-controlled channels.

It’s that much of a clown-car circus world.

I could go on, I’ll leave you with this one.

… And a final thought: Elon ought to have renamed Twitter not as X, but as “Xamizdat.” Now, quiz time. Who gets that?

… I don’t bust my ass at this gig. That’s not why, if you’re a man and dig what I do, you should cure your shame and feel good. You should do it because I rock, I’m not your average regurgitator, and there’s always something quirky or vulgar. For fun. Buy a membership, already. You’ll feel great.

I had to look up the reference, but it would have been a great name!

Now, here’s something that no one is talking about (that I am aware of, and since it’s BAD news for Trump, I expected to see it everywhere): he has a date very soon in a courthouse in New York. Unless I missed something, that judge has the ability, the strong desire, and the will to make sure he goes OUT of the courthouse through a door that leads only to one place: prison.

I don’t see the SC decision about “official acts” getting in the way of this at all. I’ve seen a few passing references to some light sentence or even “confinement at home,” but anyone who doesn’t believe this judge WILL put him behind bars right before the election, for a sentence long enough to make it impossible for him to take office, much to the delight of the Democrats, has been smoking something downright scary.

To me this is just another in a long line of ways to make sure Trump never takes office again. It’s not like they haven’t been talking about that very thing. References to “he must be eliminated” and “never be allowed to take office” are rife, not to mention the actual assassination attempt.

Is it beyond reason for me to think that if this attempt to imprison him fails, there’ll be another assassination attempt, and that one will almost surely succeed? And that if it does, even many Republicans will heave a sigh of relief?

These things keep me awake at night, and there’s literally not one thing I can do. They don’t realize it, but Democrats, Independents, and even anyone who’s non-political but hates Trump should also be equally concerned because of the ultimate injury to our country, especially if any of this is successful….but to them, it’s just another Monday.

All things work together for good, Georgine.

I wonder myself sometimes if Trump is resigned and sanguine to the fact he may give his life for this.

The prison thing isn’t going to happen, I don’t think. That will force SCOTUS to jump in quick, and nobody wants that, least of all, SCOTUS.

What happens if he’s elected president as a prison inmate.

I don’t care what it takes to get 2nders off their lazy fucking asses, and I’m not talking about indiscriminate shooting. I’m talking about show of willing force. 100 million American gun owners with trillions of rounds of ammo.

I certainly hope you are right, Richard!
