Startling Thoughts on Antibiotics

Greetings and Belated Thanksgiving Well-Wishes

I hope all of you spent quality time with your loved ones—friends and family alike. And I hope you scored some great deals out and about on Friday if you’re into that traditional shopping frenzy. Just one more word about Thanksgiving: In some families, it’s tradition right before the feast to go around the table, where everyone names off some things they’re especially thankful or grateful for. But it’s always been my idea to live your life in such a way that when your turn comes for that little testimonial, you can honestly say, “I have nobody to thank but myself.” That’s uttered a little bit tongue-in-cheek, of course. It’s made people laugh when I’ve used it.

Moving On: The Subject Is Antibiotics

I’ve recently had occasion to think about antibiotics and do a bit of what I’d call a medium dive on the topic, so I’m going to relay that here. The next thing is, if you don’t know, this is a paid membership blog, and the way I run it is straightforward: If a post is published Monday through Friday, it’s free to the public. If it’s published on the weekend—i.e., Saturday or Sunday—then it’s for members only. That’s the only decision criterion I use.

So with that, let’s move on and get into it. This is basically a lengthy discussion I had with AI, with a good amount of fact verification and sources checked out. It’s pretty startling—especially right at the end, with an astonishing comparison between the efficacy of antibiotics and vaccines, and also which one is more important.
