We’re up here at the vacation home in the pines for a long weekend with four dogs (yea, we brought Hunter the Beagle along). It’s been a blast. Breakfast pics at the end. We get everything we like off-grid TV-wise except live sports, so today is football day.
~ We’ll have another iron fortification update post soon. With further digging, it’s really remarkable the politics, money, and favor that went into the “anemia health crisis.”
~ Economic and plain business ignorance.
But Karen De Coster (with formal coursework in economics) has a quibble with that and she’s right.
Stop declaring THE BERNIE an economic illiterate. What is the point, here?
Let’s properly divert the “ignorance” blitz toward what’s really at issue: continually and intentionally raping this country’s wealthy doers in order to redistribute to the mind-muddled, equalitarian masses until the pillars of western civilization have been dismantled and we are left with a carefully-fashioned, ‘multicultural’ cauldron of damnation.
The motive for these BERNIE comments is not an understanding (or lack thereof) of economics, because these people who covet the power of ‘control & change’ do not concern themselves with economic understanding and consequences. It is a combination of unmitigated malice toward doers/achievers + a purely emotive response in glorifying the will-nots at the expense of will-do wealth accumulators + aspiration to erect a system that can police, enforce, and punish all wealth accumulation via a total totalitarian state.
Will the masses ever comprehend that this is all purposeful, and that megalomaniacs and political regimes do not operate on “ignorance,” but rather, on the notion that they can rule from the pulpit through the use of propaganda, lies, pedaling slogans to the worshipful masses, and “legally-obtained” power grabs through government fiat?
The *ignorance* is appropriately directed toward the followers of BERNIE who parrot the imbecilic nonsense without an inkling of emotional intelligence or knowledge of any subject on which they so freely opine.
Oh, and by the way – keep voting your life away at the polls because you know it makes such a huge difference. Good kids.
~ Continuing the theme, but in a different vein, did you hear about the Colorado “insurance” co-op collapse that strands 80,000 Colorado “Affordable Care” beneficiaries, even after borrowing $72.3 million from people in all 50 states? Nobody saw it coming, except for the 1-2% of people with actual brains.
Anyway, that, and this piece, that for me, gets neither to the crux of the issue on high deductibles or high premiums—which, in the context of INSURANCE should be so inversely proportional that even the other 98% could grasp it—set me off on a bit of a Facebook rant:
This whole mess irks the shit out of me and I know what I’m talking about, having provided full coverage for upwards of 30 employees for years.
First of all, NONE of this is INSURANCE and word meanings are important. It’s health care maintenance, analogous to purchasing an extended warranty maintenance policy on your car for its entire life. Guess what you’re going to pay when it’s at 250K miles. Conversely, your actual collision and liability insurance will remain relatively flat, and one hell of a lot less than your skyrocketing warranty.
Way back when, before insurance was outlawed, you could get a Blue Cross catastrophic care policy for a pittance. I had $2,000 annual deductible for $38 per month in 1994, age 33. This meant I paid my own way until I hit $2k out of pocket and zero after that. Effectively, this means that no matter what, you never pay more than $2,442 per year and in years nothing happens, you pay $442.
THIS is INSURANCE. Paying huge deductibles combined with huge premiums for the benefit of huge insurance companies in bed with Obama & Co. is not insurance. It’s an up sell for the financial and political benefit of the foregoing scumbags, at your expense.
And don’t give me that Health Savings Account bullshit either. I tried many times, made no sense. The premiums were about 80% of what I was already paying, but the employees would have paid way more than their little co-pays. Sure, I could have screwed them and saved like $5-10k per year, but offering the full coverage kept great employees from looking elsewhere. It was a big deal to them.
The whole fucking mess makes me want to puke all over a fucking voter somewhere.
~ More economic illiteracy? Why not? When you’re dealing with the other 98-99%, it may strike a cord somewhere—ignoring the fact that ignorance is rather a vicious cycle where a modicum of true enlightenment is prerequisite to recognizing one’s own ignorance.
My Facebook take:
It’s wondrous to imagine how many overpaid, over-benefited union employees this nifty machine replaced, making the capitalists behind it all better off.
Coming to fast food joints soon: robot servers and food preparers, as dumb, economically illiterate voters price low skilled = low wage employees (where they can acquire skills) out of the market.
~ ‘Global warming the greatest scam in history’ claims founder of Weather Channel. Go ahead. Dismiss it by telling me that Sunday Express is in the tabloid category.
THE debate about climate change is finished – because it has been categorically proved NOT to exist, one of the world’s best known climate change sceptic has claimed.
John Coleman, who co-founded the Weather Channel, shocked academics by insisting the theory of man-made climate change was no longer scientifically credible.
Instead, what ‘little evidence’ there is for rising global temperatures points to a ‘natural phenomenon’ within a developing eco-system.
In an open letter attacking the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, he wrote: “The ocean is not rising significantly.
“The polar ice is increasing, not melting away. Polar Bears are increasing in number.
“Heat waves have actually diminished, not increased. There is not an uptick in the number or strength of storms (in fact storms are diminishing).
“I have studied this topic seriously for years. It has become a political and environment agenda item, but the science is not valid.” […]
Climate expert William Happer, from Princeton University, supported Mr Coleman’s claims.
He added: “No chemical compound in the atmosphere has a worse reputation than CO2, thanks to the single-minded demonisation of this natural and essential atmospheric gas by advocates of government control and energy production.
“The incredible list of supposed horrors that increasing carbon dioxide will bring the world is pure belief disguised as science.”
For more on the benign nature of CO2, see here.
~ Get your head out of your ass in terms of the fucking deluded, hubristic belief that you know how to manage whole ecosystems over thousands of square miles, indeed GLOBAL proportions, or that you have confidence in people who do.
You want to run an ecosystem? Get a marine aquarium, put invertebrates in it, watch them die, spend a lot of money learning how to manage 50-100 gallons of salt-water with visible life in it (yes, I have done this many times, up to 180 gallons, and eventually became competent after thousands of $$$ “tuition”). Here’s a very stable small reef tank I had years ago when I got good at it and could have a significant fish bio load, combined with inverts. It’s a fucking hard balance to figure out for your specific ecosystem. “People” will die.
Nobody has a fucking clue what they’re talking about with “climate change.”
~ Intermission. People haven’t been this fun, cool, and un-up-fucking-tight since 1973. Adriano Celentano and Lola Falana:
~ You knew it was coming.
Very short Facebook rant was all this vast stupidity merited at the time:
And gun-scared people think I’M the ASSHOLE.
Go fuck yourselves, you pathetic swarms of amoral bees and ants. And shut your putrid mouths while you’re at it. Fuck off and you’re now dismissed.
…Additional integrations. Doesn’t it seem odd that when these school massacres of defenseless teachers and school children happen, the left gets giddy? What, you’re going to tell me that it’s concern? Then you’re a fool. It’s not. They love it per se, and they assuage their conscience in the knowledge it’s always going to happen anywhere, somewhere…so might as well use it.
The right, as bad as they are, generally, at least have this right. You meet force with force and the hypothesis has been tested a million times over thousands of years. I’m not aware of an instance where meeting force with force resulted in worse outcomes. I’m sure there are some lightning strikes, and I’m sure there’s plenty where it made no difference at all. These aren’t close to falsifications.
The left isn’t interested. The whole meet force with force thing smacks of self-sufficiency, and that’s anathema to the underlying principles of being a leftist…euphemism for dependent, ultimately. And this is why they’re pernicious in their defense of ultimate dependency. Veins of self-sufficiency ultimately threaten their devotion to unconditional
In an alternative universe, when I’m not chastising them for being idiots, they’re actually smart scammers who instantly recognize principled threats to their well being, which amounts to spending their life agitating for a safety net that’s necessarily at the expense of other people who are explicitly not family, friends, local community…which could prove…embarrassing.
It boils down, then, to middle men, voting, and political agitation so that they can fill out a form rather than go to all the people they ought to have “put money in the bank” with, over a life, should they need to make a withdrawal.
It’s pathetic on all levels. Those on the left: democrats, socialists (I repeat myself), leftists, commies…are all just selfish scammers and I mean that in a way that’s far different from what Ayn Rand meticulously outlined in The Virtue of Selfishness—the first of her books I read in 1990, the rest to follow in the space of two years. No, this sort of selfishness is not about getting the best deal you can out of any bargain and capitalizing on it if you can. (Careful. You might create a bunch of jobs, even some add on industries.)
No, this is the selfishness that’s endemic and epidemic in the left and is of the left. It’s its raison d’être, and recruiting is un jeu d’enfant. Basically: trucs gratuits.
Think about it. This faction of human scum—not worthy of residence in a NYC rat-infested sewer—are perfectly willing to use the literal death of literal children by literal gunfire assault to both advance the political antagonism of the day. But far more importantly and in slight of hand, disingenuously oppose anything that smacks counter to the real, real deal (i.e., self sufficiency): ‘we need collective redistribution and management from a central authority; we love to get to get our privileged political junkie jollies off as pastime, and seek an ultimate safety net at the expense of others.’
Look back at the image and ask yourself that it lefties really cared about school kids being targets for whatever political antagonism comes out if it, they aren’t advocating for total-pro, secret-service like protections, just as they want their Nomenclatura to have?
Too costly? Well, It’s good to be King, but then how about all these doting grandparent lefties? Where are they, putting up all of their social security benefits or at least some portion, to fund super-pro, secret-service-like protection for school children? You’re already paying for that for half of DC. Nothing for the innocent children, you pathetic, thinly veiled excuses for human beings? “The Greatest Generation.” SPIT. Yea, until the free Ice Cream Truck pulled up every night and put you in diapers, again.
I reiterate: if you don’t understand the gun debate from the perspective of people wanting to live at the expense of others and opposing anything and everything that smacks of independence, then you really don’t understand.
~ It’s time to get serious about self-defense. Even when the ability of traditional martial arts can indeed help, it’s very important to take note of those who recognize that some of it is self serving BS, worthy of 70s Bruce Lee flicks for the enjoyment of adolescent males fantasizing about how to get a girl.
This two-minute video could save your life, especially if you’re not carrying (gun or knife). Women, you especially take notice.
Until next time?
