— 13 Hit & Runs: Good Things; RFK Critical Mass; 99 Bottles of mRNA; Old Time Religions Getting Along? Gender Transformation Realities; and Much More…
Greetings from Pratamnak Hill, Chonburi, Thailand, on June 22, 2023.
Updates and Published Things
— Since Sunday Scribbles #16
1. I. Can. Not. Believe. how well the new Downloads thingy I added is going. Who knew? Now I’m always buzzing with new ideas to create more content for it. I guess it’s perceived differently from blog posts or even pages. More permanent. Something relevant for a long time. After all, my Paleo Book still sells. That’s like 10 years old. Have you checked it out? Membership gets you free access to all the paid ones, too. It has driven me to a new and best task-management system ever, and guess what? That’s coming to the Downloads section soon, too.
2. A new post, published just hours ago, in fact: The Candidacy of RFK Jr. for President of the United States Reaches Critical Mass — The Unlikeliest New Sheriff in Town? Both his uncle, the President of the United States, and his father, a US senator, were assassinated; and the latter, while running for POTUS. Those facts all alone smell fishy. Don’t you think? United States of America? Land of the Free?
3. A new download, also published just hours ago: 99 Bottles of mRNA On The Wall — The Sorry Saga Of a Criminal “Health” Syndicate That Went Global. The story of Covid, more than anything else, is a story of how billions across planet earth—in the space of days, weeks, and months—lost their souls by squelching their voices of conscience, taking a stake in the global safety-measure and drug-trial frenzy for influence, profits, social upheaval and “new normal” oppression of the individual—as a sacrificial offering up to the gods of The ScienceTM.
Today’s Hit & Run
1. I’m having to rethink my longstanding thesis that Islam, being about 600 years younger than Christianity and like 2,600 years younger than Judaism—but all three of the same root, Abraham—needs to “modernize.” Perhaps not. Catch my drift? … A Pride march lasted 5 minutes in Istanbul before all attendees were arrested by police. The backstory is that I used to live amongst a whole lot of Pride folks of various rainbow-colored stripes in an urban lofts setting, past life. They were all my friends, I supported their aspirations. Until I stopped, once recognizing that this is never going to fucking end, ever. Never. Ever. It’s being fringe and in constant social turmoil over it that they’re all about and only all about. I got nuthin for them, anymore. (rethinking is what thinkers do).
2. About the previous rethinking, someone said, “Russia is proving Orthodoxy and Islam get along just fine. A model for the new millennium, perhaps?” I replied, “Something’s gotta give, because Judaism is Clown World and so is all of Christianity, save for some Protestant sects. I don’t know much about Orthodox, and zero about Orthodox Judaism or how it differs from mainstream. But that’s an interesting avenue to explore.” Could Orthodox Judaism, Orthodox Christianity, and [Orthodox] Islam all get along? Time for a discussion with ChatGPT-4. Yep…take a look.
3. Might as well stick with the theme, I guess. I’ll just say I’m so proud of myself for that, and you’ll just believe that. No debate. End of discussion. Epoch TV has pumped out another documentary, Gender Transformation: The Untold Realities. Give your email, watch for free. “The docudrama tells the real-life stories of several former transgender youth who started the gender transitioning process and their experiences at various stages of the journey through live interviews and re-enactments. Experts interviewed in the film reveal the life-altering medical and psychological impacts of the experimental medication used, including the irreversible side effects of puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and surgeries that are not reported by the media.” I feel ashamed as an American to even have to call attention to it and acknowledge that this not only happens there, but is heralded at an institutional level—rather than something I could be proud of; like, say, gathering up a bunch of associated individuals, prosecuting, convicting, executing them in the public square, and throwing a grave-pissing party.
4. “Rush brazenly dismissed the expertise of ex-military submariners. ‘[…]there are other sub-operators out there, but they typically have gentlemen who are ex-military submariners and they — you’ll see a whole bunch of 50-year-old white guys,’ he said.” Update: “Rush, the 61-year-old CEO of OceanGate Expeditions, is now missing onboard his Titan ship along with four other passengers. The vessel had not been heard from since early Sunday morning, and officials fear those on board now have less than a day of oxygen left.” Old White Guy: “It hasn’t surprised us,” said Will Kohnen, the chair of the Marine Technology Society’s Submarine Committee (formerly the Manned Underwater Vehicles Committee), about the Titan’s disappearance. “We’ve been aware of this project for some time and have had some concerns.” Late Update: It imploded. But at least the proprietor was right with “god” and never consulted with old white guys. They’re just a bunch of naysayers about bucking the laws of physics. Not “inspirational” at all in that regard.
5. Wimbledon update: “The All England Club has announced that daily highlights clips will use AI-created voices and text captions rather than a human broadcaster. The AI ‘commentator’ has been trained to use the ‘unique language of tennis’. It will incorporate data about where on the court the ball and the players are – and what kind of shots they are playing.” It’s happening even faster than I told you it will happen. Some out there might want to brush up on the latest Luddite arguments.
6. From Ivor Cummins comes this uncanny prophesy about every single thing that’s going to happen with regard to Covid. That’s 10 years prior to Covid and was in connection to the swine flu scare-scam of 2010. They keep trying over and over, and I see endless verbiage of the form “the next health crisis…” like they’re pining for it. And why wouldn’t they? It’s great for business—provided you’re in the right business…like an essential one…where the principles of transmissibility and harm don’t apply. Here’s the solution. Ultimately, it’s grave-pissing parties, again (you know how to get those set up properly, already). That raises the costs of fake-scam “health” crises hysteria to levels that no longer justify undertaking risk for the sake of the profits. It’s an econ 101 thing.
7. Peter Hotez, MD PhD is a buffoon and charlatan. He’s worth $35 million. Know how he got it? Shilling for pharma companies. And Americans think they live in a serious country…I digress. Anyway, all hell broke loose when Joe Rogan talked for 3 hours with RFK, Jr, and millions listened to how Hotez is such a buffoon and a charlatan. Hotez was having none of it. So Joe challenged him to come on and debate Kennedy—and he, Joe, would donate a boatload of cash to a charity of the whore’s choosing. Of course, for obvious reasons, Hotez can’t be bothered and has enlisted the help of shills to do what shills do, like wide and dark shit stain, Mehdi Hasan. Unfortunately for them, audiences are having none of it, so it’s a complete ratio-roundup ridiculing the whore and his shills. Wanna see just what a joker and clown Hotez really is? You’ll think this is made up, just like you think America is a serious country.
8. Ever heard of Preference Falsification? “Preference Falsification is the act of misrepresenting a preference under perceived public pressures. It involves the selection of a publicly expressed preference that differs from the underlying privately held preference (or simply, a public preference at odds with one’s private preference). People frequently convey to each other preferences that differ from what they would communicate privately under credible cover of anonymity.” We all do it every day. “Hey, how’s it goin?” “Oh, goin great” (irrespective of how it’s actually going). That’s rather white-lie innocent. It gets worse when you nod your head at some imbecilic moron spouting heaps of bullshit in public when you don’t believe that shit for a second. My advice is to stop being polite. In fact, the whole world could do with a whole heaping dose of being a complete asshole—merciless and relentless—in the face of earshot-bullshit. Speak up. With f-bombs. Cause loss of restful sleep.
9. BREAKING: MAJOR UPDATE IN THE HUNTER BIDEN CASE!!! Shut the fuck up. All of you, who keep on doing that every few days for the last 2 1/2 years, knowing damn well that nothing is ever going to happen. Stop pretending that America is a serious country.
10. For days, all I heard about was the sudden death of Shane Warne. And it wasn’t just because he died (young, suddenly, mysteriously, no clue, happens all the time) while on holiday here in Thailand. It’s because I live amongst so many Aussies and English, and Warne is a world-renowned Australian cricketer. Well, apparently, some docs have gone ahead and decided to put their dicks on the chopping block by revealing that Warne’s early and untimely death was because of an mRNA poison-jab. And that’s not all. “The doctors have called for the immediate suspension of Covid mRNA vaccines globally pending an investigation into serious side-effects, including late onset heart attack and sudden cardiac death.” Oh, c’mon. I know you’re cardiologists and all, but have you checked with purple-haired, nose-ringed, tattooed, obese, butch lesbians in torn fishnet stockings who woman they/them the fact-check centers, yet?
11. On the lighter side around my place, classic car event next weekend down the street, including a ’55 Mercedes 300 gull wing? Calendar marked. On the darker side, the second of this sort of thing in the last few weeks. I believe the last one was a knife. This time, an axe. Keep them guns out of the hands of kids, y’hear? I sense that the level of emotional crime is rather elevated in Thailand, though of course, it all depends on what the media reports. Our perception will be skewed no matter what. What’s remarkable here is how quickly the police nab assailants and how they elicit confessions almost every time. I can’t recall reading of a murder, robbery, or fraud story that did not conclude with a confession. Inverse from the West, where everyone’s innocent and has a lawyer to affirm it. One possible explanation is that after the confession, they always take the perpetrator to the scene of the crime and have him or her reenact it, which is filmed and broadcast. 15-minutes of fame?
12. A word of caution about AI and naysayers. Again, I make reference to the excellent piece by Marc Andreessen. Look closely as folks post their exchanges with chatbots. Does it look like a human-to-human exchange, or like a human talking to a slave or student? The latter can have value for teaching, since you know the deficiencies already, so you lead the student to make the errors. But that’s not what normal dialog is about, where some mutual understanding is sought. And, the chatbots are trained on human language. They “understand” it and give it back. It’s what they do. The more humanity you put into it, the more you get back. I see a lot of question-barking, until such point as the inquisitor gets the response sought, and bias is confirmed. … For my part, I was a naysayer right up until I began doing deep and long and involved and complex conversations with the thing. I knew unmistakably and with zero doubt that the world will never be the same. I have since been amused at every naysayer, and my license to do that is afforded by my amusement with myself.
13. Further to #12 and as the final entry where I get to go a bit wilder hog, stop and think what we’re talking about here. 99% of the problems/issues people are having with GPT are related to its hardware limitations, 1% to its Woke programming by the Idiot Savants who created it. To relate that, the public chatbot is a 4kB context window and GPT-4 (like I host here as an included benefit for membership; it’s $20/m from OpenAI) is 8kB. That means that in its “RAM,” it contains about 4,000 and 8,000 words TOTAL, respectively. By total, I mean what you’ve asked—including pasting any data or any it has retrieved—and what it has answered; and as it fills up, stuff from the beginning drops off.
Do you understand how ridiculously small that is? We’re talking the computing power of those expensive things students were salivating over in the university bookstore in 1982. The first Macintosh in 1984 had 128kB of RAM. That’s 16x of what ChatGPT-4 is in 2023. It’s not totally analogous because its core programming runs separately; whereas, it’s a mélange in a computer’s RAM. This is for purposes of illustration.
But look at what it can do. Efficiency has come a long way further than raw hardware.
Now, I’m running a new MacBook Air with the smokin’ new Apple M2 chip, 8gB RAM. The M1 version of this chip, with 8gig RAM, outperforms a fully loaded MacBook Pro with an Intel processor. My M2 is crazy and I love it. It’s so power-efficient now, no more cooling fan. Totally solid state.
… Anyway, when I’m interacting with ChatGPT-4 on my machine, it’s limited to 8,000 words; whereas, my machine’s capacity is about 1,330,000,000…1.33 Billion-with-a-B words.
That’s a scale of 166 million more. Those are the scales and numbers where our brains discontinue being able to relate to it. Well, I asked GPT to relate it because language is its thing.
“The GPT’s context window is about the length of a long magazine article, while your MacBook Air’s RAM could store a massive library of books.” — ChatGPT-4
Imagine when GPT gets to just 1 million words…
Now, finally, if you don’t know who professor Tyler Cohen is, where have you been? One of the very few who has blogged longer than I have and is still around. He started Marginal Revolution in August 2003, three months before I started in November of the same year. 20 years ago, folks.
Now watch this, without fail. Get an AI perspective from an economist.
That’s it for this week. Back Sunday with something in scribbling.
