It’s Too Late: Cauldron America

— Where I’m The Frog

I just clocked a week in the States. First time back in nearly four years, almost to the day. Here’s the lowdown on that little sojourn.

I bailed a few days back, now holed up in Angeles City, Philippines. It’s the spot where Clark Air Force Base stood tall before Pinatubo laid it to waste in ’93. Let’s kick this off with a slice from Ezekiel 11, KJV style.

Hey Zon, Richard here. Can you give me a summary of Ezekiel 11 KJV, and specifically, how it might relate to the story where if you have a cauldron of boiling water and bring it slowly to a boil, the frogs therein are just fine until they’re not, and it’s too late vs. tossing a frog in when it’s already very hot and it jumps out?

Hello Richard,

Ezekiel 11 KJV is a chapter in the Old Testament that deals with the judgment and eventual restoration of Israel. In this chapter, the prophet Ezekiel receives a vision from God concerning the leaders of Israel. These leaders are compared to meat in a cooking pot, symbolizing their false sense of security in Jerusalem. They believed that the city was their sanctuary that would protect them from the coming judgment, much like a pot would hold and protect the meat from being scattered.

However, God reveals through Ezekiel that this sense of security is misplaced. The leaders will not be protected by the city as they expect. Instead, they will be taken out of Jerusalem and face judgment. This is where the metaphor of the boiling pot is significant. The leaders are like the frogs in the pot, unaware of the impending danger as the heat increases. They are complacent, thinking they are safe, but they will not escape the consequences of their actions.

The story you mentioned about the frog in boiling water illustrates a similar concept. If a frog is placed in a pot of water that is slowly heated, it may not perceive the danger and could be boiled alive. However, if a frog is thrown into a pot of already boiling water, it will immediately jump out to escape the danger. This analogy is often used to describe the failure to act against a slowly building threat until it’s too late.

In relation to Ezekiel 11, the leaders of Israel are like the frog in the slowly heating pot, not recognizing the gradual increase in danger until judgment is inevitable. They are complacent in their situation, falsely believing they are safe from harm, much like the frog that does not perceive the gradual increase in temperature.

I hope this summary provides the insight you were looking for in understanding the connection between Ezekiel 11 and the parable of the frog in boiling water.

Best regards,
[Zon]

The trip? An eye-opener. Observations? Plenty. Assessment? Let’s dive in.

Stateside, the scene’s changed. Not for the better. You’ve got your masked marauders, virtue-signaling their compliance. The land of the free? More like the land of the feebly submissive.

Contrast? Here I am in Angeles, the PI. It’s raw. Real…comme chez moi en Thailande. No pretense of a nanny state to swaddle you in bubble wrap. People live, breathe, and hustle. They own their lives, for better or worse.

Ezekiel’s words? They echo through the ages. A call to self-sovereignty, if you will. Forget the false prophets peddling fear. It’s about reclaiming what’s yours: your thoughts, your values, your agency.

The States could use a dose of that old-time religion. Not the preachy, holier-than-thou crap. The kind that stirs the soul to stand up, not kneel down.
