America Certified a Convicted Felon as President

Let me wrap your mind around the beauty of it

Republicans are afraid of it, Conservatives recoil, and religious folk cite law as though they’re quoting scripture.

Let me be helpful.

Let’s dive back into some fundamental principles of the United States of America. One of the key rights established was the right to a trial by jury. Packaged with this right was the implicit understanding that if a jury decides on guilt or innocence, then it inherently means the law can be overruled. This concept is known as jury nullification.

Here’s the deal: the entire reason for having jury trials is to put a check on the law itself. Lawmakers can churn out laws like sausages, but when it comes down to locking someone up or even executing them, the jury has the final say. This is key because if a jury finds someone not guilty, it’s the end of the case, period. Even if the defendant was 100% “guilty” by the black-and-white letter of the law, there’s no higher authority than the jury’s verdict. Without this, you’d just have professional judges, who know the law inside out, making decisions based purely on legal text applied to evidence.

Now, let’s get into how this works. Once a case wraps up in court, and all the evidence and arguments have been thrown down by both sides, the judge gives the jury instructions. Think of it like a rulebook on how the law applies to all the evidence and arguments. But here’s the kicker: the jury can do whatever the fuck they want. This power is a double-edged sword because during the times of segregation and racial tensions in America, there were places—typically in the South—where a white person could do whatever the hell they wanted to a black person, and juries wouldn’t convict. That’s jury nullification gone south, and any reasonable person would agree, that’s a bad fucking thing.

However, the pendulum has swung the other way, hard. Decades later, there are now thousands upon thousands of more laws on the books. This means prosecutors can target anyone they want, and when the judge issues those instructions to the jury, the jurors often feel bound to act more like judges rather than independent thinkers and agents of morality and conscience.

In fact, you will be immediately dismissed from a jury pool if you in any way signal or explicate that you adhere to the principles of jury nullification. Easiest way to get off slave-labor-jury-duty.

So, how does this relate to the election of Donald Trump in 2024?

When Donald Trump won the election on November 5th, one of my first comments was, “Wow, that’s like jury nullification.” I don’t think a lot of people understood what I meant, but at the time of the election, he had many active cases against him, including one federal conviction related to how he categorized business expenses. That case had already been rendered guilty by a jury. But in my thinking, I thought, “Isn’t this kind of beautiful in the sense that just as a jury can say, ‘OK, yeah, you had all your facts in order, your i’s dotted, your t’s crossed, and everything was perfect by the letter of the law, but we’re calling bullshit on all of it’?”

That’s precisely what the American people did in great majority. They acted as the ultimate American Jury, going to the polls on November 5th and restoring some semblance of faith in me that yes, people understand when something is playing unconscionably. Whether this understanding stems from religious beliefs or secular ones is irrelevant. The point is, it was unconscionable and intolerable to so many Americans, this prosecution of Donald Trump.

The way, the means, the motives—none of that matters as much as the fact that the American jury stood up and said, “We’re nullifying all of that.”

This election wasn’t just about policy or personality; it was a clear statement from the populace, a giant “Fuck You” to the establishment, a middle finger to the endless witch hunts and the political machinations designed to keep a thumb on the scale of justice. It’s a testament to the power of the voter, the ultimate check against tyranny and overreach.

In essence, the people have spoken, and they’ve said, in no uncertain terms, “We see through the bullshit, and we’re not having it.”

So, friends, I implore you. Don’t shy away from the reality of what happened, which is grand.

What happened was that America called bullshit, and the fact that Trump had not yet been sentenced by Judge Juan Merchan is a petty technical point you ought to be embarrassed to be making.

EMBRACE THE BEAUTY.

We have a convicted felon as President of the United States, and that makes a mockery of most of the legal system, which it righteously deserves.

Make it great again, then.

    Hear, hear!

The legal system has been a complete sham for a LONG time (maybe it always was).

You can’t comply with thousands upon thousands of laws unless you’re a filthy rich politically connected tycoon/massive corporation that has 100 lawyers on retainer to keep you in compliance.

And even they are not in compliance. They’re just cozy with or paying off the so called enforcers.

Look at the tax code. Something like 4 million words all together. Even the nerdiest career tax account or IRS official has zero chance of understanding it all.

The fact that they had to string together isolated elements of federal and state law to make this Trump case happen demonstrates that aptly. You can bet your ass every frontline famous/successful politician — Pelosi, McConnell, etc — is “guilty” of the same and much more.

But they’re never going to be prosecuted, ever. Because they play each other’s game, and the loser is the unprivileged citizen every time.

In an insane and lost system, I’ll take the convicted felon without blinking.

To paraphrase a speech he himself made back in 2016, Trump didn’t sign up for this horror show at this age in order to increase his wealth or gain power. He did it to give back to the country — the real country, not the lipstick wearing politico pigs — that has given him so much.

The deep state has grown to an unimaginable level of arrogance and deceptiveness. It’s time for a reckoning.
