Brief Weight-in On The US Bombing of Iran
I hate all this and you should too.
Trump was absolutely sincere in holding out an olive branch and saying, specifically, “I want peace; I want Iran to prosper.” Words to that effect.
But you just gotta admit. When you’re dealing with crazy fucking lunatics (not Iranians: Persians / Arabs…all the tribes of sorts), but the theocracy since fucking 1979 (year I graduated HS…I know that year well), all bets are off.
Think of it from your Christian perspective or from a Jewish one: you BELIEVE that God is on your side and you will ultimately prevail. Same for them.
The difference is, Judaism is nearly 4,000 years old, Christianity about 2,000. Islam only 1,400-ish. The other two Abrahamic religions have matured enough to tolerate other faiths in their realms. Islam has not, yet (I sincerely hope they do). Some niches have been moving that way for many decades (I think Egypt was the impetus of that, and you can look at pictures all over the Middle East from the 70s and see the cosmopolitan tolerance and maturation going on).
Iran tried to put a screeching halt to that 46 years ago and has shown no real signs of letting up.
So, as tough as it must be for Trump, he is still CIC and his duty is to protect not only America, but a global milieu where America flourishes through cooperation and trade with as many other countries as possible.
Iran can not have nukes. No matter what.
Now back to your regularly scheduled programming (The Sugar Diet).
