The Sugar Diet – FreeTheAnimal Style

Well, the internet has been blowing up over “The Sugar Diet” Recently, some even doing so-called sugar fasts (though it’s not; a fast is zero calories). Anyway, the testimonials are impossible to ignore, with people losing upwards of a pound per day even on zero protein, zero fat, 100% carbohydrate to the tune of thousands of calories per day (their caloric intake actually increases over time, and they get leaner still). And diabetics are normalizing blood sugars.
For many reasons, this is at most a “hack” to me and I love short-term hacks which I count as a few days to a couple of months. Intermittent dietary hacking is also fine.
So I’m deep diving on this one. Even some staunch LC, keto, and carnivore types are conceding it works. I’ve done enough deep-diving already to have a handle on how and why it works, and that means I’m going to have to adjust some assumptions (thought I knew for sure, and was either incomplete or wrong).
So I’m writing this as a heads-up. Too big to ignore, so I’ve got to pursue and self-experiment. Fortunately, Thailand is one of the easiest places to do this, and there’s a clue in there. There are elements of this sugar diet that Thais have done for a very long time and until the proliferation of cheap, ultra-processed foods (UPF) everywhere. Thailand is no longer super poor like when I was visiting in the 1980s, when there was no obesity to observe anywhere. They can afford to eat too much crap, too often. That’s going to help me develop ways to use principles inherent in this sugar hack for sustainability and adequate nutrition.
Sure beats watching endless scrolling of political antagonism all day long. I’ve found something better to sink my teeth into.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT AND HOW IT WORKS
Free The Animal is an eclectic writing project about everything since November 2003. 23 years, 5,500 posts, 5 million words.
It's a paid membership blog. Most posts are free and public, but only paid members can comment. What determines whether it's free or paid is when I publish. Monday through Friday, free and public. Saturday and Sunday, for paid members. That's it. Membership info here.
It’s legit just like all the other hacks. You do have great energy on it!
Yeah I bet Thailand is great for it (fruit, rice, lean protein (depending on exactly how one is doing this ‘sugar’ diet).
The explosion of it is also fascinating. I’ve been watching this guys vids who has a slightly different take on it. He’s a biiit arrogant (not sure why he’s so confident, but he had great success on it losing 40lbs himself in a version of from years ago). Thought I’d pass along because you might not come across him as he doesn’t have any following really to speak of (I only ran across him because of a commenter on a different youtube channel mentioned him). Anyways, he has some interesting points and isn’t boring to listen to.
