Noah Revoy and I discuss AI’s effect on Society and Geoarbitrage

When AI meets the borderless economy, the rules of wealth shift.

I’ve been doing these discussions now and then—sometimes a year or two in between—since late 2018 with Noah Revoy. Here’s a helpful search link to find past recordings if interested. Here’s the latest one we recorded last night.

Noah is a highly competent personal consultant on a number of topics and possesses the one essential trait: listening. Oh, also, this is not just an online friendship. We’ve met in real life and enjoyed a Big Steak dinner together. That’s called: credentials.

We covered AI and its effect on people, workers, families, and society at large. We also got into geoarbitrage as a way of life: secure a Western-level income, then move somewhere the cost of living is far lower while keeping that income intact. Ideally it’s online work so you’re not chained to a desk or a clock in one specific place. Your money then goes five, ten, or twenty times further, and you’re living the dream.

We recorded for almost exactly an hour. I know plenty of people, myself included, aren’t big on long videos, and I don’t hold it against anyone. I skip plenty myself. But when it’s someone worth hearing on a subject that matters, I make time—Joe Rogan comes to mind. Some of his shows run three hours, and every so often I scan the list, pick one that grabs me, and sit through it because the payoff is there. Mostly, though, I get bored fast and assume you will too.

So if you’re interested in how AI is going to reshape society and how you might stay ahead of it by building a real income that still pays Western rates while you live somewhere it stretches dramatically further, this discussion should give you some ideas. Noah and I both speak from experience. He lives in Portugal—which, even as a Western country, still offers plenty of bargains—and I live in Thailand, where my income multiplies five to ten times over. That’s the position I’m in, and that’s what I’m trying to help young men duplicate for themselves.

With that out of the way, here’s the video.

OK, that’s it for today. Back to building the homestead in rural Thailand.
