I caught a cold, a flu, or some neologism that starts with a ‘C’…I have no idea

Saturday evening I came home rather late, perhaps 1am or so. I felt fine. Sunday morning, I was feeling off and had “that feeling.” I had to tough it out until after an 11am in-person meeting which did not take long. Then I began feeling worse and worse. Then the typical sneezing starts, runny nose, congestion, headache and this time (I’ve had this before) a fever. Trust me, when it’s 35 (86F) outside, I’m not running A/C, and I’m shivering, I’ve got a fever. I’ve understood this since before I was 10.

So I did what I always do when a fever strikes. I go to bed. Always. I closed off the bedroom, put on the A/C (22…71.6F…my “sleep number”). I got under the covers and just kinda enjoyed the light shivering. I slept on an off and wasn’t getting cold sweats, so it must have been only a few degrees elevation. I got up after a couple of hours but was still cold as f…In Thailand. I had to turn off the fans and close the doors that pass fresh air through the place.

I was sapped for energy. A proper wet rag. No motivation, no focus. By about 4.30pm I was ready for the bed again, and this time it was for 14 hours. It’s funny when you have a fever. Far from feeling hot under pajamas, sheets, blankets and a comforter—as is always depicted in TV and film—I’ve always slept bare skin in skivvies so that I can get a proper chill when I want one, especially since I have the A/C unit blowing right on me. Toss those covers off for 10 minutes until good and cold.

On day 2 the fever was gone or mostly gone, but then the symptoms gathered together in earnest to make me miserable (congestion, runny nose, sneezing, coughing) Also, whole body ache. I used 3 things primarily:

The thing about arginine is that for best effect you need to take it on an empty stomach and not with any food. Then it’s not competing with any other amino for entry into the cells. If you have some respiratory illness and find it difficult to cough from way on down, take 5g of arginine, wait until its vasodilation properties kick in and find yourself coughing up phlegm from the nether regions of your lungs. NAC works similarly in these respiratory applications because it breaks up mucus, liquifies it. Easy to sneeze and cough out. And the FDA might be backing off about banning it.

While I’m on the issue of sneezing, let ‘er rip. Find a safe space, or outside but I mean no holds barred. Ladies, you know who I’m talking to. This is what coughing and sneezing are for. Expel all that mucus and phlegm crap, including viruses and bacteria contained within. Another reason why masks are fucktarded. No, don’t do it in someone’s face, but all lady-like muffling does is keep it inside where your body has determined it does not belong. So day two was pretty much hell and I need to mop my floors. Day 3, yesterday, was markedly better and today, day 4, the symptoms are nearly gone.

…We got a break in the weather where it’s been raining for a week and in the last few days, almost 24/7 drizzle, which I hate. I love the big rains that get it over in 30 minutes and the sun comes out. So there’s a 2-3 hour window with bright sunshine and I went down to the pool. Spent from 12.05 to 13.05, full skin exposure and I felt great. I still do, 3 hours later.

…One last thing. Friends ask, was it the ‘C’ word? Don’t know, don’t care. Felt just like the dozens of respiratory infections in my life; and when I was young and I was pretty miserable, mom sometimes took me to Dr. Berger, the family pediatrician. He was already pretty old in the 1960s. He didn’t diagnose with TESTING TESTING TESTING!!! He did what docs did. He does an examination by listening to your breathing, has you cough, feels your lymph nodes, asks you questions…pretty standard stuff, I imagine. In the end, “probably just a cold or mild flu. Here’s some medicine to help with the symptoms. He’ll be fine, but if it gets worse, bring him back.” That never happened.

The bottom line is that I do not understand this obsession with knowing which form of respiratory virus you have. If it feels like a cold or mild flu, just treat symptoms like we always did. …In one measure of longed-for sanity in Thailand today, they will only be reporting “cases” resulting in hospitalization—as it ought to have been globally since the start.

2,400 Employees Is A Lot When There’s Nothing To Worry About

There’s a true story out there, likely never reported on even Fox—just as bad—News, that certain entities had sought to obtain all the documents from Pfizer for their SAFE AND EFFECTIVE!!! mRNA jab that got authorized for “emergency use” way back in December of 2020. We’re nearly a year and a half into that “emergency.”

It’s a fuck-ton of pages, like 400,000. In opposing the request for the documents, FDA wanted to distribute them in batches of 500 pages per month, a schedule that would take decades. I can’t recall. It was like 50-70 YEARS!!! before the documents attesting to an ongoing EMERGENCY use would be made available. The FDA took 108 days to thoroughly review every single page of the 400,000 to ensure they’re TOTALLY SAFE AND EFFECTIVE!!! I’m absolutely sure.

(Yes, this is your world, now, voters.)

The judge called fucking bullshit. Duh.

Steady Dose Vitamin C Love

A fun one to put out there. Wholesome. Something to take your mind off perpetual global crisis and refocus on what it is you truly want in your one and only life.

…I arose yesterday morning, Friday, and did what I do the first thing every Friday morning (it’s ritual now and sometimes I even know what day it is here, solely because of it). I make coffee and enjoy Mike Eades’ latest issue of The Arrow. It arrives here 6.30-7.30am typically, which is Thursday afternoon for you States peeps. I think my time of arrival is better than yours neener neener.

In yesterday’s issue, #63, he included a section I didn’t expect to see from a renowned low-carb doc.

One of the things I was reminded of in reading the book is the value of vitamin C. I’ve always know this, of course, but I’ve never really taken vitamin C on a regular basis because it’s water soluble, which means the body uses what it needs when you take it and you pee away the rest. If you take a gram of it, you’ll get rid of most of it.

After getting re-motivated to take it after reading Dr. Johnson’s book, I set about figuring out a way to take it so I could take it here and there throughout the day a bit at a time. I got some pure vitamin D, ascorbic acid, powder. (It’s dirt cheap; you don’t have to get the more expensive natural kind.) I shook out a little into a tiny bowl–MD has bowls of every imaginable size–and whenever I thought about it, I licked my finger, stuck it in the vitamin C powder, and stuck it in my mouth. The vitamin C was absorbed by my oral mucosa without even having to be swallowed.

When we measured out–by approximating–what I got in each dip of my finger, doing it 10-12 times per day gave me about a gram. But it was a gram taken a tiny bit at a time spread over the entire day. It doesn’t take much. If you don’t have the massive bowl inventory MD has collected over a lifetime, you can use a twist-off bottle cap for the same thing. It is very sour, so don’t get too much at any one time or it will pucker you.

I thank Dr. Johnson for reminding me of the importance of vitamin C.

I read it and moved on since I’ve been on my own method of steady small-dose vitamin C throughout the day for some years. Yea, I have a big bottle of Kirkland Vit-C in the 1-grams you can get for cheap even here in Thailand, but I only pop one now and then because exactly what Mike says, “…the body uses what it needs when you take it and you pee away the rest. If you take a gram of it, you’ll get rid of most of it.”

What’s my own method?

Orange Juice Shots!

I guarantee you’ll like my method more than Mike’s sour-finger method! But, with all respect to the low-carb doc, I’m writing this in a way where I hope for a “sounds perfectly reasonable” from low-carbers.

So here we go, from this rainy Saturday morning in south Phuket…

Vitamins D3 and K2 For Diseased Hearts — A Case Report

I’d logged too few hours of good sleep for two nights in a row. So last night, I prowled and caroused early at the Usual Haunts—no mask or helmet on my GPX cafe-racer motorbike here in Rawai Beach, Thailand.

I returned about 21.30, intending for a 22.00 retirement with an 8-hr soak. Check emails and such. Don’t touch that dial! (Netflix) That’s what got me into sleep deprivation in the first place.

Here’s one of the emails in the queue:

Just thought you’d like to chalk up a small victory.

Several years ago I was on the verge of giving up. I was what my father (a cardiologist) used to call a cardiac cripple. Walking a flight of stairs sent me to bed for 15 minutes to recover.

In desperation, I turned to the internet and found you. I was really interested in what you had to say about K2 and D3 and figured what the hell. It can’t be any worse than the advice cardiologists have been giving to me for 20 years that if anything, sped up my disease. Against my family’s skepticism, I embarked on the regimen. It was after my father’s death, but I was reassured by several conversations he and I had late in his life where he lamented the direction of the medical profession in general, and the field of cardiology in particular. I think he would have approved.

Now coincidentally, I had just had three stents put in my circumflex coronary artery, but given that I’d already had 5 stents that all closed, a triple bypass where two grafts closed, and three heart attacks, I wasn’t celebrating my new-found health.

In any case, something happened. Not instantaneously of course, but slowly, over time, I started to be able to walk increasing distances. Now I’m up to 3 miles at a 20 minute pace, three (and sometimes 4) times per week. A cath done recently because of an afib problem showed that against all hope, my three “new” stents were “clean and open” after three years. And I had never had a stent stay open for more than 6 months.

So I tell anyone who will listen (doctors, by the way, never listen) about D3, K2 and you. I can’t thank you enough. It may not match with your beliefs, but I pray for your well-being, safety, and the “others” yet to discover you and get the same sort of life-changing help I did.

Thank you again.

Let’s get one thing straight right off. Though one could possibly find statements to the contrary in this blog’s 5,000-post archives, I do very much appreciate good thoughts, well wishes, and prayers directed my way.

Feel free to blow me a kiss, too.

These NAZI Say Vitamin D3 Plus K2 Kills Covid; WOKE Issues Warnings

The NAZI suspects are: Lorenz Borsche, Heidelberg, Germany (how suspect is that?), Bernd Glauner, Tübingen, Germany (plot thickens), and Julian von Mendel, Erfurt, Germany (and there you have it, the aristocratic-von-NAZI-alliance).

The three NAZI under suspicion of criminal acts against the WOKE-State had the audacious criminal courage to submit a paper that got published in the Journal Nutrients, an obviously subversive organization, fronted by the “Multidisciplinary Digital Publishing Institute” (MDPI), a well-established NAZI-sympathizer and pawn that goes against all WOKE.

In it, they claim to find that Vitamin D status combined with Vitamin K2 status basically makes Covid less arduous than the hangovers Good-NAZI-Germans are already used to.

Get a load of this NAZI propaganda:

COVID-19 Mortality Risk Correlates Inversely with Vitamin D3 Status, and a Mortality Rate Close to Zero Could Theoretically Be Achieved at 50 ng/mL 25(OH)D3: Results of a Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Background: Much research shows that blood calcidiol (25(OH)D3) levels correlate strongly with SARS-CoV-2 infection severity. There is open discussion regarding whether low D3 is caused by the infection or if deficiency negatively affects immune defense. The aim of this study was to collect further evidence on this topic. […]

Regression suggested a theoretical point of zero mortality at approximately 50 ng/mL D3. Conclusions: The datasets provide strong evidence that low D3 is a predictor rather than just a side effect of the infection. Despite ongoing vaccinations, we recommend raising serum 25(OH)D levels to above 50 ng/mL to prevent or mitigate new outbreaks due to escape mutations or decreasing antibody activity. […]

Even when calcium blood levels are high, the culprit for undesirable vascular calcification is not vitamin D but insufficient blood levels of vitamin K2. Thus, daily vitamin D3 supplementation in the range of 4000 to 10,000 units (100 to 250 µg) needed to generate an optimal vitamin D3 blood level in the range of 40–60 ng/mL has been shown to be completely safe when combined with approximately 200 µg/mL vitamin K2 [80,81,82]. However, this knowledge is still not widespread in the medical community. […]

As future mutations of the SARS-CoV-2 virus may not be susceptible to the acquired immunity from vaccination or from a preceding infection, the entire population should raise their serum vitamin D level to a safe level as soon as possible. As long as enough vitamin K2 is provided, the suggested D3 levels are entirely safe to achieve by supplementation. […]

What Is Emergency Use?

The reason you know that all the “vaccines” (they actually aren’t) are bullshit and you’re an idiot-fool if you took any of them, is that they were all only and are still, experimental ideas. Yea, perhaps they scienced the fuck out of them to nth degrees. Ultimately, they must be tested on the human population, which takes years of careful data gathering and analysis. Those who participate in such trials are volunteers. Is being threatened with the loss of your livelihood unless you volunteer, volunteering?

How fucking dumb are you? I don’t begrudge any volunteer, but to take an experimental injection SO I CAN TRAVEL!!!? Stupid move. Understand that you got chumped. You take your place amongst all the other chumps. A good proportion will never take it, on principle, such as myself. I’m not anti-vaxx and got a good number of bread-and-butter vaccines as a kid—for shit that actually killed fuck-tons of kids. I’m good with that. Now, the whole world wrings hands over a virus that culls old fucks past their due date. Goodonya if you survive, but the world is in a 2-yr clusterfuck where in many countries, the median age of a Covid death—so-assigned drunken-sailor liberally—is higher than the median age of death, period. You fucking morons: those who ever gave this a serious worry from about March 2020 on…

You don’t get to tell me what to do when I’m just sitting here, not harming anyone. Living and breathing freely, walking around freely does not bestow me with your Nouveau Original Sin. Fuck the fuck off. Each of you, worldwide.

To understand how fucktarded are quite a lot of folks you know: your friends and your family…who rushed to queue up…you have to understand Emergency Use, where the only thing all those idiots understood, is: APPROVED!!!

Those of us old enough recall the old-mamma scolding admonition where you have used the excuse for wrongdoing that “someone told me to:”

“What if they told you to jump in the lake?”

Since deleting all social media about 3 weeks ago now, one niggling thing that kept popping up was that everything throughout the day I took note of—like a heightened emotion; feeling, good, bad, or worse about something—I’d instantly have an urge to share it on social media. If you ever drank or smoked to excess and resolved to quit, you’ll know the exact feeling I’m talking about when the triggers bombard you.

But while triggers can be pervasive and never ending for months and years—why recidivism is so high—I find the Social Media Addiction pretty easy to quit compared to booze and smokes. As soon as I recall, ‘oh, I deleted my accounts,’ I get a rush of euphoria. That’s pretty healthy reinforcement. I’ve written two posts on deleting social media if you missed them.

  1. The Definitive Case For Deleting Social Media (public access)
  2. Social Media Costs You Big Bucks! (premium access)

It also motivates and encourages you to employ healthier and more wholesome alternatives for sharing something. Like texting or emailing a family member or friend, or a small few of them. Or, here’s a novel idea, pick up the phone or get on a video chat and experience some life and love.

Another alternative is to consolidate them all like this, on the blog you own and tend to.

Chris Masterjohn Totally Sciences the Crowd at Times Square in NYC

I was pretty wowed. I’ve known Chris from his writing work going back to 2007 or so and IRL since the Ancestral Health Symposium at UCLA in 2011 where we were both speakers. We’ve met a few times since but the best exchange was during the 2016 Paleo (fx) in Austin, TX. He approached me, sat down, and I got the whole story he alludes to in his short talk at Times Square, below. Upon getting his PhD in nutrition, he did what you’re probably supposed to do. He went and got a university job. And he had just quit. We talked a lot about doing stuff online and he uniquely impressed me as a good listener. It’s not as though I had astounding stuff to say; nonetheless, he listed to me more intently than I usually pick up on. He’s gone on to make quite a success out of quitting a job.

Are Covid-19 Vaccines A Failure?

Perspective of the heightened hysteria

The 1st World is gonna top out at 50-60% vaccinated for Covid-19, and the rest just aren’t buying it and adoption isn’t increasing, but decreasing.

Looks like the BS cajoling is having a small effect in USA.

Unsurprising.

Just say “can’t go to McDonald’s!!!” That will get more people vaxxed up than any other possible measure. Those getting vaccinated now are largely not doing so for any critically-assessed health reasons whatsoever—with most of their doctors being wholly derelict in helping in that assessment—but for various reasons of convenience. To be part of the I’m Vaccinated Club, which is the most pathetic thing I’ve ever heard of.

No, I am not going to go into the morass of abject bullshit. Very few are actually assessing their risk of a Covid bad outcome and comparing it to the risk of a bad vaccination outcome. I don’t know whether the vaccines (and there are several and each ought to be assessed independently) are, in total, good or bad. I suspect it’s an “it depends” kind of thing: no one way or the other, for everyone.

Irish community in mourning as tributes paid to talented young sportsman after ‘untimely’ death—The talented sportsman, who died after a short illness on Tuesday, enjoyed huge success as a football player with Villa FC and Waterford United

Tributes are pouring in for “a fine young footballer and super person” who sadly passed away at just 23 years of age.

Roy Butler, from Waterford city, is being remembered as “a lovely young man” whose death has led to “devastation” in his local and sporting communities.

The talented sportsman, who died after a short illness on Tuesday, enjoyed huge success as a football player with Villa FC and Waterford United.

You can read through the entire remaining two feet of tribute and you will not find a single whisper of the smoking gun.

That’s just one story. There are thousands of others.
